Cody Rhodes, the American Nightmare, has established his name in the pages of history as he claimed victory at the 30-man WWE Royal Rumble for back-to-back years. As he did that, he joined the list of prominent figures of Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Hulk Hogan

The 2024 WWE Men’s Royal Rumble fight ended in the most startling manner as the American Nightmare got the better of CM Punk, to headline WrestleMania in his second year running. From here, Rhodes would proceed to WrestleMania 40 to battle the undisputed Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, and come around the full circle of his career.

Celebrating him from the NFL world, Pat McAfee, also a WWE commentator, gave a bold 6-word reaction on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:

The Pat McAfee Show host surprised everyone with his entry at the Royal Rumble Championship, which can officially be considered his return to WWE Commentary. He was joined by Michael Cole and Corey Graves as the commentary team for the 30-man Royal Rumble.

Not that the ESPN’s analyst return to the WWE commentary desk wasn’t a fluke itself, but McAfee also took a step further when he stepped inside the battle ring. Though entering the match wasn’t anything new for McAfee, given his previous matches against two-time United States champion, Austin Theory and Adam Cole, who now achieved the All-Elite Wrestling star title.

After his startling entry with music to surprise the fans went off, the former NFL player resentfully got up from the announce desk and made his way straight to the ring. However, he stayed in the ring for 38 seconds only, as the fight got intense.

But McAfee sure knows how to add the pinch of comedy, as when he was walking back to the desk, he threw his hands up in the air gesturing ‘nope’, giving everyone an instance to laugh about.

Though McAfee didn’t go down to compete in his Rumble appearance, his moment of comedy added a long-awaited cross-sports star power, ever since the Brock Lesnar drama
