Jackson Mahomes is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Jackson, the younger brother of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is now facing legal troubles over sexual assault claims from a 40-year-old restaurant owner.
The social media influencer was arrested on Wednesday over sexual assault allegations stemming from an incident that happened back in February in a Kansas City restaurant. Aspen Vaughn, the owner of the Aspens Restaurant and Lounge, claims Jackson forcibly kissed her multiple times. “He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” she said, calling his actions unwanted. She also noted that Jackson was highly intoxicated during the incident.
Nevertheless, Jackson was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and an additional misdemeanor charge. The 22-year-old social media celebrity is also accused of shoving a waiter in the same restaurant. Shortly after he was arrested, Jackson was able to get out of jail on a $100k bond. According to reports, Mahomes’ bond includes no usage of drugs or alcohol and no contact with the victim or witness. He is also not allowed to talk or comment about the victim or her business.
When Jackson got bonded out of jail, he was swarmed by reporters asking him about the whole incident. However, since the bond prevents him from talking about the case, he quickly got into the car and left the scene. The Chiefs declined to comment on the event, stating it was a personal matter involving a player’s family member. Patrick Mahomes hasn’t commented about the incident so far.
Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany defended Jackson despite sexual assault claims
Following the sexual assault allegations, Jackson Mahomes was heavily criticized for his questionable actions. Fans on social media trashed Jackson for dragging Patrick Mahomes‘ name through the mud again and again.
However, Patrick’s wife Brittany Mahomes is standing by her brother-in-law’s side despite the allegations. During a recent Q&A session on her Instagram account, Brittany clapped back at Jackson’s haters with a fiery response.
“They are ignorant,” Brittany wrote in her response to a fan asking her about her thoughts on Jackson Mahomes’ haters. “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s–t about him. So it’s best to just shut up.”
Nevertheless, Jackson will now fight an uphill battle to try and reduce the damage to his reputation. A judge ordered him to appear for a hearing via Zoom on May 11.
