During his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes discussed his relationship with kicker Harrison Butker as well as the Super Bowl he played against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The Super Bowl MVP claimed that he does not speak with Butker “all year long,” so it might be more accurate to describe their relationship as nonexistent.
Butker was exceptional at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. He kicked two field goals from more than 50 yards at Allegiant Stadium. Mahomes appeared as a guest on the show and discussed his Super Bowl victory and his relationship with the kicker.
Mahomes said:
Honestly I don’t talk to Harrison all year long man I just let him do his thing. But I know if I can just cross that 40 man, if I cross that 40 he’s going to put it through there. I know if you saw in the game I got a little pressure, threw it short and knew Harrison was going to knock it through. We sit right beside each other in team meetings and I don’t say one word to him only before the season and after the season.Patrick Mahomes said
Throughout the season, Butker gave an exceptional performance, particularly in Super Bowl LVIII. Field Yates on X reported that Butker finished with an impressive season, making 44 of 46 attempts, including all 15 of them from beyond 40 yards and all 7 of them from beyond 50 yards.
Patrick Mahomes gives credit to guard Nick Allegretti for playing the Super Bowl through torn UCL
Nearly all of the praise for the Kansas City Chiefs victory in Super Bowl LVIII went to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. However, left tackle Nick Allegretti, who reportedly played despite having a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his elbow, was one of the unsung heroes of the event.
In the Super Bowl, Allegretti played in all 79 snaps, and Mahomes made sure to give him his flowers. Mahomes wrote on Twitter:
Beast man! We told him we needed him out there and he didn’t miss a snap!Nick Allegretti said
The report states that Allegretti sustained the UCL injury in the game’s second quarter. A complete ulnar collateral ligament tear was later confirmed by an MRI. Only because All-Pro left tackle Joe Thuney suffered a pectoral injury did the 27-year-old start in the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, will undoubtedly fancy their chances of pulling off an unprecedented three-peat next season as they are the first team to win back-to-back titles since the 2004 New England Patriots.
