The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best player in the league right now. He has led the Chiefs to five straight AFC Championship games and has won two Super Bowl rings. The successful quarterback recently revealed how he draws inspiration from the 5-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant.
Speaking in a recent interview with Nate Burleson of CBS Mornings, the Chiefs QB said that he watches “a lot of Kobe [Bryant] videos.” Mahomes said that he follows Kobe’s method of practicing the same thing thousands and thousands of times to get it right just once or twice.
“If you ever watch anything about Kobe, he always talks about the shots that he practices thousands and thousands of times to take once, to take twice,” he said. “And so, whenever those moments do come up during the game, it’s not like it’s the first time I’ve done it. I’ve prepared for that. And I think that’s why [time] slows down.”
The 2022 league MVP Mahomes further went on to say that the fans only see the highlights, but they never realize the amount of practice and hard work behind it. “You see, the highlights and everybody’s like, ‘Oh, it’s a highlight reel. He’s being Superman out there.’ But they don’t see that preparation,” he said.
Like many athletes, Mahomes is also still taking inspiration from the Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a tragic helicopter accident 3 years ago. Kobe was a huge star in Los Angeles as he led the Lakers to 5 NBA Championships during his remarkable career.

Patrick Mahomes credits his wife Brittany for his success
The Chiefs’ 2-time All-Pro signal-caller Patrick Mahomes has enjoyed so much success in his short career yet. The 27-year-old QB has already won 2 championship rings and 2 Super Bowl MVPs.
During a recent interview on CBS Mornings, Mahomes credited his success to his wife Brittany Mahomes by claiming that he wouldn’t have been here without her support over the years. Furthermore, he also said that having 2 children has changed his perspective on life and football.
Mahomes and Brittany started dating when they were just teenagers at Whitehouse high school in East Texas. After dating for more than a decade, the pair tied the knot in a private wedding on March 12, 2022. They have 2 children together.
Nonetheless, the 5-time Pro Bowl QB is looking to continue his dominant run in the upcoming season and lead the Kansas City-based football team to the 3rd Super Bowl ring in 5 years.
