Despite losing the Super Bowl against the Chiefs, Brock Purdy, the Niners’ quarterback is getting a lot of support from all corners. The latest to join the bandwagon is Patrick Willis, the 49ers legend, who claimed that he still believes in Purdy despite the loss against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Praising the leadership quality of the team further, the former player noted that he likes how Purdy leads the team from the front. He advocated Purdy for showing a character on the gridiron.

I am a Purdy believer. To see him just lead the guys as he did, to deal with his adversities the way he did, and handle it and speak about it.
Willis said as quoted by Fox News Digital
Despite achieving a lot in the 2023-24 season, Purdy also went through some criticisms. Especially when his team reached the postseason. Purdy’s performance was not up to the mark. He was subjected to multiple interceptions. Following that, Cam Newton, the former signal caller, launched an attack on him. He claimed that Brock Purdy is nothing but a good game manager. Despite multiple criticisms, Newton stood by what he originally stated.
I’ve never said Brock Purdy was trash; what I did say is that Brock Purdy is a game manager-That’s not hate, that’s just what I feel to be facts. But I still reserve the right to say this: to be labeled a game-changer, Brock Purdy has to be the best player on the offensive side of the ball. And that’s not the case.

Patrick Willis refuted the claim of Cam Newton
Purdy however showed tremendous maturity over the entire issue. Ahead of the Super Bowl, the quarterback did not bat much eye to what was going on. He calmly disapproved of the comments that were made against him. He stated that he would love to be a game manager.

In his interview, Willis seemed a no-nonsense person who completely refuted the claim of the former signal caller. He noted that everyone knows what kind of a player Brock Purdy is and as a staunch defender of the QB he does not care what other people comment about him.
I can honestly say as a defender [thinking about] a quarterback such as Purdy and to see the way he goes about it, he’s one of the ones that every time you play against him you’re going to have to come with it every single time because he has that faith that he’s going to do what he has to do to have his team be successful. As a defender, you got to love that in a quarterback. The 49ers legend said
Purdy is presently enjoying his offseason and will get married soon. In the next season, the quarterback will hope to finish the business by winning the Super Bowl for the Niners. This season, he won the NFC Championship for the Niners.
