The Patriots were confident going into the game against the Raiders who were significantly out of form and struggling to gain momentum this season. The New England team needed a win desperately to keep the playoffs hope alive.
However, it didn’t come to fruition as they bottled the game in the last minute during the last play and made the job very easy for the Raiders to score the most simple TD of their life.
The game was tied 24-24 with just seconds remaining on the clock. The Patriots had the ball and made the last play, which is very confusing to explain. The Pats had to just run down the clock and force the game into OT as they had just come back from a deficit and momentum was with them.
Although, the Patriots, who are coached by the legendary HC Bill Belichick, attempted the dumbest play in NFL history possible. Instead of passing the ball upwards, the Patriots threw the ball behind to the last man, who was intercepted and overrun by the Raiders defender, who eventually scored the TD.
The Patriots are now 7-7 in the NFL and with just three games remaining; they look completely out of the playoff picture this season.

The New England Patriots were savagely roasted on Twitter
The New England Patriots have dropped significantly after their star QB Tom Brady left the team and joined the Bucs. The Bill Belichick-coached team has looked comparatively weaker this season with various issues in their offense.
The Patriots QB Mac Jones is also having an abysmal season and is often the bearer of all the hate received on social media. However, this time, the Patriots got the short end of the stick and were brutally roasted on NFL Twitter for their dumb play-calling in the dying minutes of the game.
The last play was heavily criticized and people even started to question the coaching ability of Bill Belichick. NFL Twitter also pointed out that they should have just let the game go into OT and taken it from there. Unfortunately, they shot themselves in the foot by making an illogical play.
The Patriots are currently third in their division with a 7-7 record and the playoffs are looking like a distant reality for them. The Patriots’ downfall is pretty evident and there are a lot of issues in the team that need to be addressed immediately.
