Damar Hamlin‘s life-threatening injury in the Bills-Bengals game made the NFL world come to a standstill, as all eyes and prayers were just for one person. The Bills’ safety collided with the Bengals receiver Tee Higgins in their home field, the Paycor Stadium. The ambulance soon arrived on the scene and Hamlin was immediately taken to the nearby hospital, the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Amidst this terrible turn of events, many have noticed that there seems to be a certain pattern at the home venue of the Bengals that keeps on repeating. The Paycor Stadium is now believed to be the most cursed stadium currently in the NFL, as it holds the record for the four most horrifying injuries in the NFL, two of which have taken place this season.
The four brutal injuries that took place in the infamous stadium involved Antonio Brown when he was with the Steelers, Ryan Shazier, who was also with the Steelers, Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins QB, and most recently Hamlin, the Buffalo Bills safety.
All four injuries were brutal and changed the lives of the injured in many different ways. AB’s injury occurred during the 2017 playoff game between the Bengals and the Steelers, where the WR was brutally taken down by the defender by something that people have dubbed as a cheap shot. Brown went limp after the tackle and much of his life changed forever after that.
Ryan Shazier had a similar incident. However, this time he was the one taking down the Bengals WR, resulting in a brutal collision that changed his career and life trajectory forever. Shazier had a spinal cord injury and underwent surgery just two days later.
Damar Hamlin and Tua Tagovailoa’s injury have happened in the same season
Hamlin and Tua Tagovailoa are both 24 years old and both prolific youngsters had to suffer brutal injuries that were career-altering, if not fatal. The Dolphins QB suffered a tragic concussion where his body went off and Tua was having some kind of seizure known as the fencing response.
Tua was taken down by the Bengals receiver in the Paycor Stadium and was soon taken to the same place where Hamlin is being treated now, the University of Cincinnati Medical center. The Dolphins QB still has episodes where he can’t remember a portion of his days and games.
The Bengals Stadium has a haunting vibe to it and some players will be scared to play on the field from now on as it has taken four NFL player names already.
