The New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave got himself into legal trouble on Monday as he was arrested for driving over the speed limit in Kenner, Louisiana. The Kenner Police Department reportedly said that Olave did not resist arrest and cooperated with law enforcement. And now, bodycam footage of the Saints receiver getting arrested has been released by the police department.

In the video, Olave tried to use his position as an NFL player to get some possible leverage, but the cop wasn’t having it. The second-year wide receiver out of Ohio State could be seen telling the cop that he was playing for the Saints.

said Olave during arrest.

To which, the cop simply replied, “And?” Further in the video, Olave could be seen fully cooperating with the officers. Then, the 23-year-old wide receiver was booked into Kenner Jail and was charged for reckless driving. He spent a few hours in Kenner jail before getting released just before midnight.

The former 1st round round pick was allegedly recklessly operating his vehicle and was maneuvering between lanes while driving at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone according to a statement released by the Kenner Police Department.

Officers clocked a Dodge Charger traveling at 70 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. The distance from where the vehicle turned off from Williams Boulevard and where the vehicle was clocked at that speed was only a two-block distance.

Furthermore, the authorities also revealed that this was a second speeding violation by Olave, who had previously gotten a ticket for driving at 54 mph in a 35 mph zone back in August.

Olave wrote on his X account.

The Saints reportedly told Fox News that they were aware of the incident but didn’t comment any further. Nonetheless, Olave is the number-one receiver of the New Orleans-based football team as he leads the team with 39 catches for 471 yards. Now, he would be focused on leading his team to a victory against the Indianapolis Colts, who the Saints are scheduled to face on Sunday.
