Baltimore Ravens are out of the Super Bowl run. After facing a defeat at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals, a match they could’ve won but didn’t, the Ravens are surely missing Lamar Jackson. Jackson didn’t pad up for the game and the last few games as well due to an injury.
There are rumors around the league suggesting that Lamar Jackson is refusing to play because the Ravens haven’t given him a contract extension yet. As per reports, the former first-round pick is demanding a contract extension similar to that of Deshaun Watson‘s 5-year $230 million guaranteed.
The Ravens front office apparently refused this offer and is yet to present Jackson with an alternate proposal. This has created a lot of tension with Baltimore’s camp and their wild card loss can also be attributed to this to some extent.

Lamar Jackson has been out since Week 13

While Ravens are out and there’s some time for their QB’s issue resolution, the franchise fans now have a new target to vent their frustration on. Before the Ravens’ 24-17 loss, former NFL quarterback Michael Vick gave the worst advice to Lamar Jackson to suck it up and play through the pain on Saturday. “It’s the playoffs, you’re three games away. Put a brace on it. Get it going. Put a brace on it, let’s go,” Vick said on FOX’s broadcast. “I played a whole season with a sprained MCL.”
Former Saints’ head coach Sean Payton was also in the segment and was pretty disappointed with the Jackson for going public with his injury update. He said that if he were the coach of the Ravens, he wouldn’t let Jackson anywhere near the sideline with his injury. The former NFL MVP was spotted on the sidelines for multiple games. “With a lower body injury, he’s going to be up in the press box. He’s not going to be on the field for me,” Payton added.
Michael Vick has been known to give bad advice to NFL players. When the whole Colin Kaepernick fiasco happened back in 2016, Vick told Kaepernick to “get a haircut” if he wanted to continue playing in the league.
Lamar Jackson suffered a sprained PCL during the Week 13 game against the Denver Broncos and has been out of the game ever since. Now that the season has ended for the Ravens, the situation with Jackson will get cleared up in the coming weeks.
