Donald Trump is one of the most controversial Presidents in the history of the United States. Known for not holding back when it comes to expressing exactly what he feels, Trump has yet again managed to ignite another major controversy.
At Trump Bedminster, the LIV Golf Tournament is being played. However, this hasn’t gone down well with a lot of people as the tournament is backed by Saudi’s public investment fund and the country has been blamed for allegedly funding terror operations that have had a massive impact on USA.

However, while talking to ESPN, Trump claimed that allegations made against Saudi Arabia in the past should not impact the tournament. “Nobody’s gotten to the bottom of 9/11, unfortunately. They should have, as to the maniacs that did that horrible thing to our city, to the country, to the world. So nobody’s really been there,” Trump said.
“I can tell you that there are a lot of really great people that are out here today, and we’re gonna have a lot of fun, and we’re going to celebrate,” Trump said, adding that a huge chunk of the money made through the tournament will be going to charity. As it turns out, former NFL QB Boomer Esiason is not pleased with what Trump claimed.
“That is the ultimate insult to the families that are sitting here going, ‘what are we doing? We’re hosting a Saudi Arabian golf tournament with the Public Investment Fund from the government of Saudi Arabia at Trump Bedminster, right in the shadow of where these two buildings once stood?’ That’s what we’re doing here?” Esiason asked.
“The former president’s hosting this garbage over there and these guys are accepting this money. It’s an insult to all the people that died on 9/11 and how their families were affected. But it’s also an insult to all the people that have died since 9/11 because of all the toxic carcinogens that they ingested while they were trying to clean this place up,” he stated.
While Trump is known for going about his business unaffected, it will be interesting to see how this controversy impacts the tournament he really wants to work out well.
