Raiders CB Marcus Peters likes a social media post about firing HC Josh McDaniels following Vegas’ 3 consecutive losses

The Las Vegas Raiders‘ start to the 2023 season has been anything but pleasant. Not only are they 1-3 in the first four games, but their schedule will get tricky as time progresses. Fans and a section of the players seemed to be fed up with head coach Josh McDaniels failing to make the team better.
His criticism is not anything new. Since taking over, McDaniels has been under constant pressure to turn things around. The farthest the Raiders managed to go is the wildcard, which was back in 2021. To their credit, reinforcements in the shape of Davante Adams and Jimmy Garappolo arrived, but their entire system felt disjointed.
This has led to several players speaking out against the former Patriots offensive coordinator. The most recent to hint at their discontent is cornerback Marcus Peters. He liked a post on Instagram that propagated the sacking of Josh McDaniels. However, there’s no confirmation that it was intentional or not. Peters has remained quiet since then, and his account name is still visible on the post.
Josh McDaniels remains positive
2023 was supposed to be the season for the Raiders to return to the game again. But only narrowly managing to outclass fellow strugglers, the Denver Broncos, shows the tension in the locker room. All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs was among the first to publicly voice his dissatisfaction. “I’m tired of f***ing losing,” Jacobs said.
But Josh McDaniels is no stranger to a beating or two. He may seem like a fish out of water for now, but at the height of his coaching career came six Super Bowl triumphs. So there’s no shortage of the winner mentality.
“We know we have a lot of work to do,” McDaniels said in a recent interview. “[And] we’re committed to making the necessary changes and improvements. We’re going to keep fighting until we get back on track.”
That is the onus at the moment for the Vegas franchise if they want to mount a playoff run. If they continue to produce poor results, then star players like D-Hop will eventually move on, where he will get better service.
But the players themselves need to sort themselves out. Now that rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell is in the middle, it has to happen quickly. The fourth-rounder’s debut game wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t remarkable either. He completed 24 of 39 passes for 238 yards and secured one touchdown. But he was sacked seven times, along with three fumbles and two lost balls. That’s largely down to the offensive line failing to protect O’Connell. Next, they will face the Green Bay Packers.
