Sean McVay is looking forward to fatherhood. But that doesn’t mean he will negate his job as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams. On the contrary, McVay expects that the birth of his child will not divert his focus away from football.

His wife, Veronika Khomyn, is due later this month with a baby boy. Last Friday, before the Arizona Cardinals game on the weekend, he said if his son “comes during a game,” he “won’t be at the game.” That is usually the case; a father would not want to be at the side of his wife during childbirth. Everyone wants to experience that moment.

But on Monday, during a press conference, McVay joked that “his son knows better than to come during the game.” They are due to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home this Sunday. He revealed that unless something major comes up, he will be at the game without fail. “I didn’t want to get too specific with all the planning,” the 37-year-old said on Wednesday. “Unless something goes totally unforeseen.”

Veronika Khomyn loves to spend time together with her husband, Sean McVay

Khomyn, who works as a realtor, often has to stay apart from her husband and Sean McVay due to football. Especially when the season is in full swing. During that time, they get less time to see each other, and it’s not exactly ideal for a couple who only tied the knot last year, as per the New York Post.

During an “Ask Me Anything” on Instagram in November, Veronika revealed the hardest part of being married to an NFL head coach. “Time together, for sure,” the 33-year-old claimed. “When so much responsibility comes with a job, it’s hard to be able to be present in all areas.” However, she has no regrets about that; rather, Khomyn feels proud to be McVay’s life partner. “He chose this career path and has so much passion for football,” she continued. “I know what I signed up for. It’s a challenge, but also a blessing in so many ways, and as long as he’s happy, so am I.”

Veronika loves to watch the Rams play. Whenever they are at home, she will always be present to cheer from the stands. Not only that but if the games are closer to where they live, Khomyn tries to attend those as well.

They met when Sean McVay was the tight end and the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders (2011–2016). After a few months of seeing each other, they decided to live in DC.
