The former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has created a new controversy in the football world by sharing racially insensitive comments on his social media profile. Furthermore, he also outrageously suggested that the Pro Bowl should be replaced by an all-Black vs all-White game.
Mendenhall went on a rant on his social media profile that he is sick of “average” White guys, who are not even good at football, talking about the game and criticizing the players.
I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football. I’m better than ur goat.Mendenhall posted on X
It is not sure who Mendenhall targeted in his tweet, but that message came in the middle of heavy criticism of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin. Mendenhall won a Super Bowl ring while playing under Tomlin in Pittsburgh and has defended his former head coach on multiple occasions.
Just a few hours before suggesting a ridiculous racial bowl game, Mendenhall defended Tomlin from critics. The Steelers head coach has been receiving a lot of hate despite his great tenure with the team so far. Tomlin’s poor record in the playoffs in the last few seasons led to fans asking for him to be sacked despite his good record.
While many fans were offended by Mendenhall’s tweet and called out the former running back for it, the former NFL players, including J.J. Watt and A.J. Hawk, shrugged off the post with jokes.

The former Super Bowl champion running back Rashard Mendenhall was brutally bashed on social media over his racially insensitive comments on his X profile. However, despite criticism, the 36-year-old doubled down on his take.
Simply tired of being berated by people who arent experts in de game. We jus pretend like I’m the only athlete tired of fans talking trash? You dis upset over a single tweet. What about us? Like me or not, I’m a GREAT in football. This proves my point, u can’t speak on ball alone.Mendenhall wrote
