The Philadelphia Eagles played their week 15 game against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday. It was a close game, which the Eagles lost by three points. One of the game’s biggest talking points was the referees missing multiple false starts by Eagles’ OT Lane Johnson. The refs this season have faced a lot of criticism for their missed calls, and last night was another example of that.
During the game, Johnson was seen starting before the ball was snapped. It happened multiple times, and yet the refs failed to call a penalty on each occasion. Johnson was seen moving both his feet before the Eagles’ center, Jason Kelce snapped the ball, which is illegal. The refs have missed these types of calls earlier in the season as well.
Although the Eagles lost the game, fans on social media believed that Johnson and the Eagles gained an unfair advantage due to false starts. They slammed the refs for missing the calls multiple times and called for more consistency while officiating the game. MLFootball posted the video on Twitter.

The Eagles lost their third game in a row and are now behind the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC standings. Even though they have qualified for the playoffs, the Eagles were in prime position to grab the conference’s number one seed a few weeks ago.
They will now hope to win as many games as possible to enter the postseason on a winning note.

The NFL referees came under fire once again during the Philadelphia Eagles–Seattle Seahawks game on Monday. They have been under the spotlight this season for a lot of missed calls, and the trend continued last night when the officials missed multiple false starts from the Eagles’ OT Lane Johnson.
The fans on social media ripped the officials for not calling any penalty on Johnson. Some of them called out the league for the referees’ inconsistencies and urged the NFL to “do something about it.”
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here are some of the reactions to the missed call.
The Eagles, however, did not benefit from it as they lost the game, 17-20. They have now lost their last three games after winning 10 of their first 11 games of the season. They will play their next game against the New York Giants on December 25.
