The NFL world went crazy after CJ Stroud provided a stellar performance for the Houston Texans against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a close encounter where the Texans achieved a hard-fought victory against the Bucs. It was a close encounter that ended 39-37 in favor of the Texans. C.J. Stroud was their main man behind the victory. He had a tremendous game against the Bucs and impressed the analysts.

Among those analysts, Richard Sherman expressed his charm over the player’s brilliance on the gridiron. In the recent episode of the well-discussed show, Undisputed, Sherman shared his views on the rookie quarterback.

Richard Sherman said:

He showed that he is a top-ten quarterback in the league right now. And he showed throughout the season. He has had 14 touchdowns, only one interception, and 2,200 yards already. He does not have huge weapons so he is making things on his own. He is making the right decisions. Week ins and week outs. Play in and play out.

Stroud had his heroism against the Bucs. The former Ohio State quarterback had a five touchdowns game. He also covered 470 yards of passing. This is the QB’s rookie season in the NFL and he is giving joy to the NFL crowd. The QB covered 2,200 yards of passing with 14 touchdowns. His interception numbers are also low. Only one in eight games. With this performance, the quarterback is becoming a favorite among the fans and others.

He was impressive in college football and that’s the sole reason he got picked in the senior level. It was a battle between the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans and the former backed out at the last moment. The Cardinals went for Bryce Young and the Texans had Stroud.

Defensive problems continue for the Texans

Despite a vital win against the Bucs, Houston’s defensive problems continue to exist this season. The team was poor in defense and the Bucs also showed their weak points. They gave away 37 points in the match. The team would have suffered if the rookie QB did not lift them at the right moment and at the right time.

The Texans had difficulties in defending the flat against the running backs. The Bucs knew it and Rachad White did the same thing that he had to do. Exploiting that weakness. White had a decent game as he racked up 73 yards, made 20 attempts, and had two touchdowns and four receptions. He even tied the game to 30-30 with his second touchdown.

If the Texans have to strive for the playoff then they need to solve their defensive shortcomings.
