The Dallas Cowboys is the most scrutinized team in the league. Their every game is talked about, every failure magnified. And the one person who bears the brunt of it all is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, in this instance, Dak Prescott. He is criticized for Dallas’ every loss and not praised enough for their wins. His life is hard.
The Cowboys main rivals are the San Francisco 49ers. The two played against each other at the Levi’s Stadium last Sunday. The Niners manhandled the Cowboys, 42-10, with Prescott throwing three interceptions and only one TD. And with that loss came a barrage of criticism towards the quarterback. Former 49er and current Fox Sports analyst, Richard Sherman called out the Cowboys fans, his co-host Skip Bayless amongst them, and urged them not to blame everything on the QB.
“I don’t think that Dak Prescott is going anywhere, I think he’ll be there for another five to six years,” Sherman said on the Undisputed show. “So get used to it and be comfortable. There are mediocre quarterbacks in the National Football League. He is not one of them. I played on a Super Bowl team. You only need the quarterback to do enough. Don’t throw the game away. We’ll handle it from there. What he needs from your defense he’s not receiving. Stop blaming everything on Dak.”
The Cowboys have started the season well, winning three of their five games. However, their latest loss to the Niners is going to sting for a while. It was a tough loss against a contending team. They will look to bounce back against the Los Angeles Chargers in their next game on Monday.
Deion Sanders ‘felt bad’ for Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott had a terrible game against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. He completed 14 of his 24 pass attempts for just 153 yards, threw three interceptions and just one touchdown. Former Dallas Cowboys player and current head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders said that he ‘felt bad’ for Prescott.
“I just felt bad for Dak,” Sanders said during an appearance on “Inside the NFL.” “I really did, I felt bad for Dak because I think Dak is better than that. He truly, he’s going to show that, but I felt bad for him.” Prescott was outdueled by second-year QB Brock Purdy during the Niners-Cowboys game.
Prescott led the league in interceptions last season. There was a lot of preseason criticism directed towards the Cowboys’ starting QB. He started the season well, but this criticism will escalate following a terrible loss to their arch-rivals.
