Skip Bayless is the most heartbroken person on the planet right now. Dallas Cowboys, the team he has loved for the past 50 or so years has let him down once again as they faced defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional playoffs on Sunday night.

Ever since the glory years of the Cowboys which saw eight Super Bowl appearances, and five Super Bowl wins, there has been a steep decline in their ability to win the Lombardi Trophy. The last star quarterback the Cowboys had was Troy Aikman and no other quarterback has come close to winning it in Dallas as he has.

Dak Prescott has continued to disappoint the team in big games which is a pattern that follows his entire seven-year career in the NFL. When pundits and fans criticize him for his abysmal performance, he shuts them up the following week with a mind-blowing game but falls back into his old habits again.

Undisputed co-host Skip Bayless had his soul ripped apart by hellhounds as he saw his Cowboys loss to the last pick in the draft playing quarterback. Skip actually recorded a video of him throwing Dak Prescott’s jersey in the garbage bin. “This was different to me. I didn’t see this one coming and it ripped my Cowboys loving heart out,” Skip said as it was time for him to face the music as he defended Prescott from criticism all year long.

“I should’ve listened to you (Shannon) all year long. But I just can’t help myself when it comes to this team. This isn’t America’s Team for me this is America’s Tease led by captain tease Rayne Dakota Prescott.” Skip, 71, has seen the Cowboys in their prime playing 41 playoff games and all the Super Bowl appearances which made him fall in love with the franchise.

Skip talked about how the Cowboys showed signs of Super Bowl potential all year long but they choked towards the end when it mattered the most. After the Week 18 horrific loss, the Cowboys were able to defeat Tampa Bay Buccaneers whose defense was average at best during the regular season and couldn’t pass the rusher how hard they tried. So, the wild card victory was just a fluke for Dallas who showed their true colors against the 49ers.

Skip was most of all disappointed with Dak Prescott who hasn’t been able to take the Cowboys to the NFC Championship during his seven years in Dallas. The 29-year-old had a staggering 143.3 Quarterback Rating against the Buccaneers and had only a 63.6 QBR on Sunday night. Skip also added that it was entirely Prescott’s fault they lost the game because the defense was at its best against the 49ers. They were able to stop the offense at 19 points and all Dak had to do was score a touchdown to take the game into OT which he couldn’t do.

“Just when I thought he (Dak) had turned the corner, he took me right down a dead-end street,” Skip added as he expressed his disappointment with Dak Prescott. A betting man probably wouldn’t bet on Prescott staying in Dallas next year after seeing Jerry Jones talk in a postgame interview. Let’s see if Jones gives him one more year to prove himself or fires him altogether.
