“It’s BLOWN out of proportion”: Rob Gronkowski finally REVEALS why he didn’t mention the Patriots in retirement post

Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski is one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game. Not long ago, the superstar of the game announced his retirement from the NFL for the second time. After 11 seasons in the league that comprised of four Super Bowl titles, four First-team All-Pro, and a plethora of records, Gronk as he’s affectionately called by his teammates decided to end his glorious journey.

Gronkowski had initially retired back in 2019 when his longtime teammate and close friend Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to join the Buccaneers. The 33-year-old tight end had cited mental and physical issues as the reason for his retirement which he suffered during his 9-year-long stint with the New England Patriots.

However, Rob soon decided to come out of retirement to play alongside his great friend Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. As expected, fans poured in their love for the tight end when he decided to call it quits for the second time, but also pointed out that the TE hadn’t mentioned the Patriots anywhere in his retirement post.

Recently, Gronk finally opened up on why he decided to exclude the Patriots from his post. “I think it’s a little blown out of proportion,” he said as per NESN. “I mean, I kind of did it when, you know, my first retirement. There’s no doubt I love New England.”

I love all the fans here in New England. There’s no doubt. But I felt like that speech or whatever, the time and place I did for the first one was great, and I was just kind of giving it for that retirement for the two years I had in Tampa. But I think it was blown out of proportion maybe a little. But I love New England, love everything about it,” he added.

As far as the possibility of him making a comeback at the highest level is concerned, Gronk recently told Mike Reiss that he will definitely pick up if Brady calls him and asks to come back at Tampa Bay but his answer would be a firm NO as he is completely done with football now.
