Rob Gronkowski played the entirety of his career with Tom Brady in the Patriots and then the Bucs. The duo shared a great friendship on and off the field. They even retired together last season. However, Brady unretired himself whereas Gronkowski stayed retired.
That didn’t change their bond as they still are close friends and often engage in social media banter from time to time. Brady recently announced his retirement via a video message taking the whole NFL world by storm.
This time the former Bucs QB decided to retire for good and inspired numerous reactions from many players. Rob Gronkowski also penned down a heartfelt goodbye for Brady. However, this time it was shorter as he had given him an extensive goodbye last season.
“Tommy, since I already wrote you a long retirement message last year, this time I shall say, welcome to the 2x retired club,” Gronkowski stated via Twitter. “You’re a legend and you always will be, my friend.”
Both Tom and Rob are now part of the 2x retirement club where they both have retired once and come back from retirement. The Gronks eventually retired after Brady left the Patriots. However, through his persuasion, he came back and the duo was effective in winning the Super Bowl with the Bucs.
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski might share the stage yet again, this time for Fox Sports
It is no secret that Tom Brady has signed an illustrious deal with Fox Sports to work as an analyst and take a part in all the NFL games. Rob Gronkowski is also working at Fox as an analyst and the duo will probably work together in the future.
Their chemistry is scintillating on and off the field. The QB-TE duo understands each other completely and no one has ever come close to their prime when they used to dominate defenses with the Patriots.
Gronkowski is regarded as one of the greatest TEs of all time and all that was possible due to his insane chemistry and coordination with Tom Brady, something which has never been replicated again.
Rob Gronkowski played his final season with Tom Brady in the Bucs and finished his immaculate career with 4 Super Bowl rings, 5 Pro-Bowls, 4 All-Pros, and an insane 92 receiving touchdowns for a TE.
