Rob Gronkowski said last year that he would love to play with Joe Burrow and looks like his love for the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback hasn’t stopped since. Gronk has likened Burrow to his longtime teammate and friend, Tom Brady. During his recent interview with Kay Adams on Up&Adams, the 4x Super Bowl champion reiterated that Burrow might become the next Brady.
“Yes, I 100% see the comparisons. I actually thought about the comparisons when I watched him. The first time I ever heard about Joe Burrow was at the National Championship game when he won it with LSU. When I watched it, I was like this guy reminds me of Tom Brady,” Gronk said.
Joe Burrow has shown glimpses of his greatness during his college career. His aggressive playing style won him the Heisman Trophy in 2019 and led the LSU Tigers to a win in the 2020 CPF National Championship. He also made headlines for his infamous ‘Cigar Celebration’ tradition he continues in the NFL.
Can Joe Burrow lead the Bengals to another Super Bowl?

Joe Burrow was selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL draft. While his rookie year was shortened due to a tear in the ACL and MCL in his left knee, he bounced back stronger the next year. During his second year with the Bengals, Burrow led the Bengals to their first playoff appearance since 1990 and ended one of the longest playoff droughts in the league. In 2022, he guided Cincinnati to their third Super Bowl but was defeated by the Los Angeles Rams.
While discussing the upcoming Super Wild Card weekend, Kay Adams asked Rob Gronkowski who he thought will have the “wildest performance” to which he replied: “It’s gonna be Joe Burrow again. He’s gonna decimate the Baltimore Ravens defense. The Baltimore Ravens can sign whoever they want for $100 billion dollars it’s not gonna stop Joe Burrow. You know, I think they just signed that linebacker, and it doesn’t matter, can keep him there long term, Joe Burrow is gonna decimate your secondary. He did it last week, he’s gonna do it again this week, and it’s gonna be back-to-back wins, and Baltimore is gonna go home disappointed. Joe Burrow is gonna lead another deep playoff run.”
The Bengals have already defeated the Ravens during their Week 18 encounter. Burrow didn’t have a good performance based on the exceptional standards set by him. He completed only 25 of his 42 passing attempts, throwing for 215 yards and just one touchdown. Knowing Burrow, he is unlikely to repeat these stats and will surely defeat the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens.
If the Bengals win against the Ravens, they will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional playoffs. This will be a tough task for Joe Burrow and Co. but seeing as how they defeated them last year in the AFC Championship game, it will be a piece of cake for them.
