There is no better feeling than winning a Super Bowl for a football player. It is what the athlete works towards their entire life and once they get there; the celebration is done on a grand scale because when you work hard; you need to play hard as well.
Rob Gronkowski most certainly does not need to be reminded about enjoying himself after winning the Super Bowl. The former tight end for the New England Patriots revealed his experience after winning his first ring in 2015.
Rob Gronkowski shared his special experience with former teammate Julian Edelman on the Games with Names podcast. He won his first Super Bowl in 2015 after the Pats beat the Seattle Seahawks. Gronkowski revealed,
We got hammered. There was 50 beers getting thrown at me at one time. Like you had to get hammered... I almost didn't make the parade because I was passed out in the airport because I went to Jimmy Kimmel. I went out in LA; I tried making it back.
The Patriots had not won a Super Bowl since 2005 and when the team managed to achieve the feat yet again in 2015; it was a party in the streets of Boston for the fans and the players made sure to revel in the moment. Rob Gronkowski has always had the “frat boy” mindset when it comes to partying. He will go all out and steal the spotlight and make sure that he enjoys himself.
Rob Gronkowski contributed immensely to the Patriots win over the Seahawks
The tight end had 68 yards and a touchdown in one of the most exciting Super Bowl games in recent history. While Gronkowski managed to fly all the way from Pheonix, Arizona, where the game took place to Los Angeles, make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, and then party his heart out in LA right after the big game. That just goes to show, when it comes to partying, Gronkowski will lose his sleep to be there.
Super Bowl XLIX was a nail-biter. For the fans of the Patriots, it is right up there next to the 28-point comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. For Seahawks fans, the final play of the game haunts them to date. The team had a chance to beat the Patriots had they converted upon a 1-yard touchdown play. Rather than deciding to allow Marshawn Lynch to run the ball, Pete Carroll decided to make Russell Wilson pass the ball.
Wilson’s pass was intercepted by Malcolm Butler and that was the end of it for the Seahawks. Despite having a phenomenal year, they had one of the worst endings to a Super Bowl in NFL history. For the Patriots, it marked the beginning of yet another dynasty as the team went on to win two more rings in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
