Jalen Hurts has been the standout performer this NFL season. The Eagles QB bravely led his team to the much-awaited Super Bowl clash with the Chiefs. However, the Eagles’ Super Bowl playoff run was a bit easier compared to their AFC rivals, but that doesn’t deny the team’s immaculate ability to dominate any game they play in.
The Eagles ended the regular season with one of the best records in the league and Hurts was a big part of that. Though he didn’t win the MVP award, he was a close second behind Patrick Mahomes.
However, there are always people who get salty about other teams’ success and a similar incident occurred when the Eagles demolished the 49ers in the NFC conference championship, with a score of 31-7.
The 49ers didn’t take the loss well and instead started to take shots at the Eagles and their players. After Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk’s comments, it was time for kicker Robbie Gould to get in on the action and deliver some snarky remarks for the Eagles and their QB Jalen Hurts.
Gould recently featured on the 33rd team and analyzed the upcoming Super Bowl fixture between the Eagles and the Chiefs. The 49ers kicker choose the Chiefs to take the edge over the Eagles and called them out for their ‘easy’ playoff run.
“I think, from experience and talent, I like Kansas City over Philadelphia,” Robbie Gould stated on the 33rd team. “They haven’t really had to play, in the playoffs, a full game, right? So you get in a game where they’re down? Obviously, if Kansas City gets up on them early, it might take them a little bit out of their game.”
Robbie Gould also threw shade at Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
Hurts is currently one of the best QBs in the league after being the starter in just two seasons in the NFL. This is a massive feat for any QB and if he manages to win the Super Bowl on Sunday, then the 24-year-old will go down in history for the Philly fans and the organization.
However, there are many who don’t recognize his skill, and 49ers’ Robbie Gould is a prime example of that. Gould recently made a glaring statement on the 33rd team and claimed that the Chiefs will have fun defending Hurts. The placekicker also took a shot at the Eagles’ rushing game.
“If you make Jalen Hurts play quarterback, you’re going to have a pretty solid day on defense,” Gould stated. There were many who disagreed with Gould’s logic, as Hurts was one of the best performers this season.
Gould thinks that Hurts only relies on the rushing game, forgetting that he was third in passing yards this season in the league ahead of Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Geno Smith.
Jalen Hurts did now win the MVP award. However, many still think that the Eagles QB was the rightful candidate and Patrick Mahomes didn’t deserve it over him.
