The Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonnie Walker IV helped his team win game 4 of the Western Conference semifinal matchup against the Golden State Warriors. Walker’s remarkable performance off the bench was lauded by many fans and experts around the league. However, ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III might’ve gone too far as he compared the 24-year-old young guard to the late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
After the game, the former Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III took to social media to praise Lonnie Walker IV for his remarkable performance. Walker had 15 points coming off the bench which helped the Lakers to close the game in a victorious manner.
“Lonnie Walker IV’s performance in the 4th Quarter was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The last Lakers’ player to score 15 or more points off the bench in the 4th quarter of a playoff game was Kobe Bryant 26 years ago in 1997. Lonnie is 24 years old. We know it was you Bean. We miss you,” tweeted Griffin about Walker’s outing in game 4.
Walker has been an important asset for the Los Angeles-based basketball team ever since he joined them in July 2022. During the crucial game 4 of the conference semifinals game, Walker scored 15 points in the 4th quarter, which helped the Lakers to take a dominant 3-1 lead.
Nevertheless, the Stephen Curry-led Warriors came back to win game 5 of the round 2 playoff series and cut the Lakers lead to 3-2. Furthermore, Vital Game 6 will take place in the Crypto.com arena on Friday.

Social media rips Robert Griffin III for comparing Lonnie Walker IV with Kobe Bryant

Robert Griffin III‘s weird take on Lonnie Walker IV did not sit well with NBA fans on social media. He got called out for comparing Walker with Kobe Bryant, and some people accused him of tweeting weird things for interactions.
Before becoming a full-time ESPN analyst, Griffin played as a quarterback in the NFL for seven years with three different teams. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins (now known as the Commanders) as the second-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
He played with the Washington-based football team for signing with the Cleveland Browns. His career was cut short by constant injuries. The talented quarterback last played football in 2020 as the backup QB of the Baltimore Ravens. The one-time Pro Bowl QB hasn’t been officially retired yet but he hasn’t played football in more than 2 years and is working as an NFL analyst for ESPN.
