It seems like the Cleveland Browns season has come to a premature end since their star quarterback, Deshaun Watson, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury. In his absence, the Browns are expected to start their rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson for the rest of the season.
Amidst this, the former Baltimore Ravens QB Robert Griffin III offered to take over as the quarterback for the Cleveland-based football team. During a recent episode of his podcast “RG3 and the Ones” podcast, Griffin discussed the QB situation in Cleveland and said that they should sign him either to be their starting signal-caller or to be their backup.
The Browns should start me as quarterback. One, at 33 years old, I understand the game better than I ever have in my entire career.Griffin on RG3 and the Others.
The former dual-threat quarterback — whose career was limited by injuries — said that he has now learned from his mistakes during his younger years and is ready to play sensibly.
I know how to slide, and I know when to slide. That was a huge issue in my eight years in the NFL. But I've learned. I've learned from my mistakes and I'm ready to showcase that I can get it done.
Furthermore, he also took a sly dig at Deshaun Watson, saying he hasn’t played like he is worthy of a $230 million contract. Griffin believes he can be the game manager that the Browns and can lead them to the Super Bowl.
Robert Griffin III makes a case for why he should be the Browns QB
In the recent episode of his RG3 and the Ones podcast, Robert Griffin III made some points about why the Cleveland Browns should sign him after their star QB Deshaun Watson’s season ended due to an injury.
Griffin said that he still trains like an NFL player every week, just waiting for an opportunity to pounce on. So, he asked the Browns to hit their line as he believes he can take them on a Super Bowl run.
I train every week like an NFL football player so I can be ready for moments for just like this. So they need to hit my line.RG3 on his show
Besides, if not as a starter, Griffin believes he can still help the Browns’ rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson learn the game of football. The ESPN personality said he is ready to work with the Browns either as a starter or as the backup.
