The New York Jets‘ QB Zach Wilson has had a poor season. He replaced the Jets’ mega offseason signing Aaron Rodgers in week 1 after the former NFL MVP suffered a torn Achilles. Since then, Wilson has struggled to lead his team to victory as he has been benched this season in favor of backup Tim Boyle. Wilson got a chance to play against the Houston Texans on Sunday and put on a great show at MetLife Stadium as he led the Jets to a huge win.

The QB finished with 301 passing yards and a couple of touchdowns against the Texans as the Jets destroyed them 30-6. However, despite a dominant performance on Sunday, there is a strong possibility that the Jets will move on from Wilson during next year’s offseason. According to Dessert News, the 24-year-old QB was informed that he will be traded after the end of this season. Jets’ HC Robert Saleh did not deny this when he was asked about it on Monday.

Saleh said:

My conversations with [Wilson] are to do everything he can to get ready to play a football game. As far as all that other stuff is concerned, those are things I will leave for Joe [Douglas].
Robert Saleh while addressing the reporters

There has been a lot of drama surrounding the Jets and Wilson this season. Although the QB got a chance to play against the Texans, there were reports last week that Wilson was hesitant to retake the starting QB job.

The Jets are 5-8 for the season after 14 weeks. They will play their next game against the Miami Dolphins next Sunday. Wilson will be expected to start that game as well and will hope to build on his brilliant performance against the Texans.

Robert Saleh had high praise for Zach Wilson after a great performance against the Texans

The New York Jets won their latest game against the Houston Texans on Sunday. They started Zach Wilson at quarterback and he did not disappoint. Wilson had his best game this season on Sunday and led his team to a dominant 30-6 victory. Jets’ HC Robert Saleh spoke about Wilson’s performance after the game.

Saleh added:

His best game as a professional. He made things happen. I thought he was outstanding today. It's a fine line between 'let it rip' and just trusting yourself. You don't have to be a hero and you need to know when enough is enough. Be boring is just verbiage. We were balanced today, aggressive, but smart, taking checkdowns and being calculated with opportunities.

Wilson finished with 301 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans. He completed 27 of his 36 pass attempts and had a rating of 117.9. The Jets will hope that Wilson builds on this performance and helps the team win their remaining games.
