“Not worried about what OTHERS are doing”: Denver Broncos QB1 Russell Wilson isn’t fazed by massive deals of other Quarterbacks

Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson for the last 10 years was running the show for the Seattle Seahawks on the field but this seaso he would be taking his place under center for his new team, the Denver Broncos. As Wilson begins a new chapter of a career that may when it’s all said and done take him to Canton, Ohio.
Wilson who was traded by the Seahawks to the Broncos for a hefty haul is 33 and has one additional year remaining on the $140 million contract he signed with Seattle in 2019. The Super Bowl XLVIII is due a $19 million base salary for the upcoming season, seventh-highest among all NFL players. Which compared to the massive extensions signs by other Quarterbacks around the league is not much.

Russell Wilson-“I don’t really worry about those guys and what they’re doing”

What others are doing is signing massive deals like-Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers: 3 years, $150.8 million ($101.5 million guaranteed)(avg.-$50 million) Kyler Murray, Cardinals: 5 years,$230.5 million($160 million guaranteed)(avg.-$46 million). Deshaun Watson, Browns: 5 years, $230 million (fully guaranteed) (avg.-$46 million) “I don’t really worry about those guys and what they’re doing,” Wilson recently said.
“Awesome for them. Obviously Kyler, great for him.” Wilson who has not had much success in recent years is hoping that this change of scenery would make for a better outcome, as it did for two of the greatest QB’s ever Peyton Manning (who also ended up in Denver after leaving the team that he was drafted by) and Tom Brady.

“I know I want to be here for a long, long time, hopefully the rest of my career. And just, it’s been a blessing just to be here with these guys. To be here with George Paton(Bronco’s GM), he’s been amazing to me. Coach Hackett, first class, unbelievable mind, unbelievable way how he leads this football team and the rest of the coaching staff, the players, the organization,” Wilson also said.
Although there some reports saying that Wilson is looking for a 5 year, $250 million deal, which would be competitive to the contracts other elite Quarterbacks have signed.
