Russell Wilson was rehabbing and doin high-knees on the Broncos' flight to London
Russell Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving. The Denver Broncos quarterback has been having the worst NFL season of his 10-year career. This season was supposed to be the one in which he was supposed to make the Super Bowl as he is on a stacked roster. Wilson was the final piece that Denver needed in order to establish itself as a competitor. However, things have gone completely south for him.
He suffered a hamstring injury in the game against the San Francisco 49ers and as a result; he sat out the game against the New York Jets last week. This week, the Denver Broncos travel to London to play the Jacksonville Jaguars as part of the NFL’s effort to increase its global fan following. The flight to the UK turned out to be an interesting one for the quarterback.
Russell Wilson cannot seem to catch a break:
Russell Wilson told reporters that he spent the four hours’ journey working out and rehabbing on the team plane while the rest of his teammates were fast asleep. He was doing high knees and trying to get his hamstring right so that he could recover and get back on the field at the earliest.
These comments resulted in fans trolling the quarterback, as this season, fans are pouncing on every opportunity they get to mock the quarterback. Before the 2022 NFL season began, the quarterback got himself a special subway sandwich named after him in Denver and he coined the popular phrase, ‘Let’s Ride’ that had become the chant of all the fans in the Mile High region. However, we have not heard that phrase in a while now, and it is because of the team’s lackluster performance.

If the Broncos lose this week, Wilson gets the blame yet again because his teammates could not sleep with him working out in the background.

Nobody is criticizing Russell Wilson, the philanthropist. He is a great man, but this season he has not lived up to the expectations on the field and that does attract and validate the criticism that he has been subjected to.

Russell Wilson has a lot to prove for the remainder of this season. If this season does not go as the Broncos expected it to, then there is a very high chance that many offensive players and defensive stars would request to be traded. Hopefully, the quarterback gets himself together and plays up to his full potential.
