The New York Giants have had a disappointing season this year. This comes just a year after the team was finally able to make it to the playoffs after a while and following the extension of quarterback Daniel Jones. The team has managed to win just one game and lose 5 this season, thereby sitting at the bottom of the NFC East.

Running back Saquon Barkley has managed to rack up 207 yards on 53 attempts this season with just one rushing touchdown. ESPN’s Ryan Clark believes that the Giants should trade him and send him to a team that would not be wasting his potential.

Clark is of the opinion that while the Buffalo Bills offense is pretty good, the team relies heavily on Stefon Diggs, which is not the best thing as it makes it easier for defenses to formulate strategies around this.

If the Bills were to go out there and add a player such as Saquon Barkley to their roster, they would have two threats on the field which would make it harder for defenses to predict their move.

You bring a little bit of the explosivity that you can see from Josh Allen in the pass game to the run game, now you have teams trying to figure out, are going to play too high and make Josh Allen be that patient quarterback that he sometimes makes mistakes while being or are we going to stack this box and play Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis one-on-one on the outside.

The addition of Saquon to the Buffalo Bills would lead to the team’s offense opening up more and it would be more versatile. Clark concludes by stating, 

I believe that trading for a guy like Saquon Barkley to the Buffalo Bills, gives them an opportunity to be an offense that can even play above the opportunities the defense allows them to.

Saquon has managed to thrive in New York and it is evident that he was a key reason for the team being able to overcome their playoff slump last season. The running back had just recently stated that he does not want to be traded and would like to stick with the Giants but this is the NFL and there are no guarantees. If he were to be traded to the Bills, it would definitely make the team a bigger threat offensively.
