The New York Jets, led by their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers, went against the New York Giants in their final preseason game last weekend. The preseason game had plenty of exciting moments, and the Jets ended up winning the game 32-24. In the game, Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner was hyped up to go against Giants rookie wideout Jalin Hyatt.

HBO’s Hard Knocks cameras caught an exciting segment in the game between 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year winner Gardner and rookie speedster Jalian Hyatt. In the clip, Tyrod Taylor took a shot at Hyatt, but the pass was broken up by Gardner, who covered the speedster in a great way. Check out the video attached below!

Furthermore, the Jets coaches had fun as New York’s head coach, Robert Saleh, poked fun at Gardner for missing an interception. “Why are they trying you already? asked Jets HC Saleh.

To which someone jokingly replied, “Cause, he’ll never bring the ball back,” implying that Gardner missed an opportunity for a pick. “He’s gotta bring the ball back. When you bring the ball back, they’ll stop trying you,” joked Saleh.

Jalin Hyatt is one of the top wide receivers in the 2022 draft class. He was selected by the Jets in the third round of the draft that concluded back in April. Taylor and Hyatt connected for a touchdown in the Giants’ preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, but Sauce Gardner and the Jets managed to keep him out of the endzone.

The New York Jets hit the jackpot when they drafted Cincinnati product Sauce Gardner in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Gardner had a great campaign last season and ended up winning the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

Gardner received a Pro Bowl nod and was also named to the first-team All-Pro squad. He became the first cornerback to be named to the first-team All-Pro squad since 1981.

However, now he will be looking to potentially bag the Defensive Player of the Year honor for the upcoming season. Furthermore, he would also be looking to help Aaron Rodgers and the Jets win the Super Bowl in February.
