The Aaron Rodgers trade saga is finally over. On Monday, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback got traded to the New York Jets for a haul of draft picks including a 2024 conditional second-round pick. This Rodgers trade immediately makes the NY Jets a Super Bowl contender, as they already had a stacked roster with many talented players, including Sauce Gardner.

The 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year Ahmad Sauce Gardner actually played a recruiter role in the Aaron Rodgers. Gardner along with the Jets running back Breece Hall and the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year WR Garrett Wilson all made a video a few weeks back, making a pitch for Rodgers to come to their franchise. In the video, Gardner claimed he will destroy the cheese head that the defensive back took from a Green Bay fan after defeating the Rodgers-led Packers in the 2022 regular season.

And now, the Pro Bowl cornerback has revealed the texts he first sent to Rodgers when the trade talk began in the 2023 off-season. Gardner simply sent the picture of the memorabilia cheese-head to Rodgers. The 10-time Pro Bowl QB was probably stunned by the picture as he simply replied, “Lol. Why do you still have that?”

Gardner then went on to make his pitch that if Rodgers does come to New York, both of them can burn it together and win a Super Bowl. Rodgers liked the idea and replied, “Would be a pretty sick story, wouldn’t it?” And now, after Rodgers became officially a New York Jet and Gardner shared the texts on social media and it went viral, gaining over 1.1 million views and 16.3k likes.

The addition of the former Super Bowl-winning QB Aaron Rodgers makes the NY Jets a very dangerous team in the AFC as they already have a stacked young roster. Under the veteran leadership of Rodgers, the Jets can make a deep post-season run in the 2023 season.

The Jets also added Rodgers’ Green Bay teammate WR Allen Lazard to their roster and will look to add one or more pass catchers in the off-season. Furthermore, despite losing some draft picks in the Rodgers trade, they still have enough draft capital to add more pieces around the 4-time All-Pro QB.

In brief, the AFC East is now wide open and the Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets all have a shot at winning the division. Besides, the New England Patriots can make a run at the division title if they nail the 2023 draft and acquire Mac Jones some premium weapons.
