The Seattle Seahawks will play the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. The Seahawks’ safety, Jamal Adams, will make his season debut on Monday. Adams returns after missing the entire 2022 season. He tore his quad tendon last season in the first week. Since then, he has focused on the rehabilitation process. He has made a full recovery and will return to football this Monday.
The road to recovery wasn’t an easy one for the 27-year-old. Adams told the reporters on Friday about the troubles he endured during the days on the sideline. “It was tough. I thought about retiring,” Adams said. He also revealed about dealing with some dark thoughts as he struggled with recovery, but nothing suicidal.
“I was considering everything at the moment. I was in a dark place. Not on anything suicidal, but definitely in a lot of dark times as far as getting away from the game of football, getting away from people.” he told reporters. Adams further described when he got the news about the injury.
He said he tried to run off as best as he could but knew something was off. Eventually, the medical team broke the bad news to Adams.“They told me the news. That was a low moment for me, man,” Adams recounted.
The New York Jets drafted Adams 6th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. He became one of the best safeties during his time in New York. He was traded to the Seattle Seahawks at the beginning of the 2020 NFL season and has remained an integral part of the Seahawks’ defense ever since.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll talks about Jamal Adams’ return
Jamal Adams will return after a span of a year on Monday. He missed the entire 2022 season due to a leg injury and has fully recovered and looks ready to go. Seahawks HC Pete Carroll talked about Adams’ return to football on Monday.
Carroll said. “He’s ready to go. He’s had a terrific week already and if he just comes out of it OK, he’s in there.” Carroll called him a dynamic football player and declared his impact as a major asset this season for the Seahawks’ defense. The return of Adams could help them compete against the dominant San Fransisco 49ers in the NFC West.
The Seahawks have started the season 2-1. They won their last game against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. The team will get a massive boost with Adams’ return to NFL action, and they hope to make the playoffs this season.
