“He was spitting facts!” – Sean Payton’s old quotes of calling Nathaniel Hackett’s role at Broncos last year as the ‘worst coaching jobs in NFL history’ gets resurfaced after Jets’ loss to the Dolphins
Nathaniel Hackett couldn't last a single full season with the Broncos last year.

Earlier this off-season, Sean Payton had some pretty harsh remarks about Nathaniel Hackett’s disastrous tenure with the Denver Broncos during the 2022 campaign. Later, Payton was forced to eat his words after the New York Jets — who currently have Hackett as their offensive coordinator — defeated the Broncos in their week 5 matchup.
After taking over the Broncos’ head coaching role, Payton directly called out Nathaniel Hackett. Furthermore, Payton said he’ll do the exact opposite of what Hackett did last year in Denver, which resulted in a disastrous season for both Russell Wilson and the Broncos. When he said that, Payton received a lot of backlash for opening calling out a fellow coach.
A few months later, Payton and the Broncos were defeated by Hackett and the Jets in their matchup. The Broncos fell to 1-4 with that loss and everybody started calling Sean Payton for losing to Hackett, whom Payton openly criticized a few months before their matchup. Many thought, Payton wouldn’t even win the same amount of games Hackett did back in 2022.
However, Sean Payton and the Broncos have turned around their campaign in a surprising way. They have won 4 of their 5 games since their defeat against the New York-based football team.
Currently, the Broncos have the best winning streak in the entire league with 4 consecutive victories, including a couple of victories against two Super Bowl contenders. Besides, they already have registered more victories in the ongoing season than they did in the 2022 campaign. So, the tide is turning in their favor and fans are already boarding the hype train.
Social media rallies behind Sean Payton
Following the Jets’ constant offensive struggles in their 2023 campaign, NFL fans on social media insinuate that Sean Payton might have been onto something with his harsh remarks about Nathaniel Hackett back in August. Fans resurfaced Payton’s old remarks and trolled Hackett for his performance with the Jets this season. Check out the reactions attached below.

The Jets are arguably one of the worst offensive units in the league. Under Nathaniel Hackett, the Jets rank at the very bottom of most of the major offensive statistics in the 2023 campaign. They rank 30th in points scored per game and rank dead last in total yards per game.
On the flip side, the Broncos — under Sean Payton — are thriving as they have registered 4 victories in their last 4 games. Next, the Broncos are scheduled to face the Cleveland Browns in their week 12 matchup this Sunday.
