“He absolutely deserves it,” Shannon Sharpe FURIOUS after Eagles HC Nick Sirianni got snubbed from Coach of the Year honors despite his overwhelming success

The Philadelphia Eagles led by their head Nick Sirianni defied all the odds and somehow managed to make it to the NFC Championship game. Despite being the toughest division this season in the NFL, they managed to clinch their division title and the no.1 seed in the NFC playoffs picture. Furthermore, their third-year quarterback Jalen Hurts had a breakout season and made the final cut for the regular season MVP honors.

Despite this massive success this season, which no one expected the Eagles to have, their coach Sirianni didn’t even make the final list for the Coach of the Year honor. He was beaten out by the Giants rookie HC Brian Daboll, the 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan and the Jaguars HC Doug Pederson. And for Daboll and Pederson, this is their first year as the head coach with the respective teams.

After the finalists were revealed by the NFL, many people called out the league for snubbing one of the best coaches in the league from the COTY awards. Furthermore, former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe shared the same sentiment. While speaking on his UNDISPUTED with Skip Bayless, Sharpe said that Sirianni absolutely deserves the award.

“Absolutely! Who else had the Eagles in the NFC Championship game? To say he doesn’t deserve a vote, I don’t know what the hell they’re looking at,” said Sharpe in a recent episode of his show. “He absolutely deserves it.”

The Philadelphia Eagles were a mere 9-and-8 team who suffered a first-round playoff exit last season. However, their head coach Nick Sirianni has changed that team into a 13-4 team that will be playing in the NFC Championship game.

Although their coach’s effort should be appreciated, the team’s general manager Howie Roseman deserves bigger applause for assembling a championship team in Philadelphia.

The GM added key players like WR AJ Brown, LB Haason Reddick, and DT Ndamukong Suh to help this team and its coaches achieve their goal. Furthermore, by giving a true no.1 weapon to Jalen Hurts, he also helped Hurts to have a breakout season which helped the QB to perform at an MVP level.

Nevertheless, the job’s not done in Philadelphia as they are getting ready to face the San Francisco 49ers led by COTY candidate Kyle Shanahan in the conference championship game this weekend.
