Tom Brady played his 23rd season in the NFL and was knocked out by the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round of the playoffs. The Bucs QB is speculated to retire after this season as he is set to be a free agent by next season.
However, there are also rumors of Brady joining the Raiders or the Dolphins for one last season and making one final Super Bowl push. Although there are many of TB12’s fans who would love that, former NFL TE Shannon Sharpe believes it would be a mistake and suggests retirement for the legendary QB and this time for good.
Sharpe called out Brady’s awful performance against the Bucs and stated that the QB is slow and is scared to get hit. This does not make him an ideal QB and he should retire instead.
“The day of Tom Brady consistently being Tom Brady, doing what we’ve been accustomed to doing, is over. He’s not the same.” Shannon Sharpe stated on the Undisputed.
The Undisputed co-host also pointed out that Brady won’t be held accountable for his dreadful performance and someone else will become the scapegoat for the loss. According to Sharpe, the Bucs QB played horribly against the Cowboys and should be held accountable and not be defended because of his massive legacy.
Shannon Sharpe blasted Tom Brady after an awful performance against the Cowboys
Brady had never lost to the Cowboys throughout his entire career. However, he lost the most important game against them this season and was sent home soon after that.
Tom Brady looked like a shell of himself throughout the game as the Bucs QB was struggling to gain any momentum and just threw easy passes. NFL is a physical sport and players should embrace contact. Instead, Brady was running away from them and throwing bad passes, according to Shannon Sharpe.
“He [Brady] played awful again last night. He’s missing routine throws. This is Brady. Now I want to know any other quarterback… you killed Josh Allen for doing this. You just killed him the other day.” Sharpe continued.
Tom Brady seriously lacked any quality against the Cowboys and the Bucs were paid for it. The 45-year-old now has an important decision to make over his future with the sport and what comes after it.
