Skip Bayless neglects all stats and shockingly rates Joe Burrow as the best AFC QB by snubbing Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen

Renowned TV analyst Skip Bayless has named Joe Burrow as the best quarterback in the AFC currently and has given some solid reasons behind it. In choosing Burrow, Bayless has ignored the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Justin Herbert. Burrow has been very good this season and has rallied the Cincinnati Bengals to the playoffs once again.
Speaking on Undisputed with Shannon Sharpe, Bayless was very clear with his choice. He chose Joe Burrow as his leading quarterback without any loss of breath and the primary reason he gave was that Burrow has beaten Patrick Mahomes every time the two have gone head-to-head this season. He said that Burrow plays the position at a higher position that Mahomes and also operates the offense at a higher level than Mahomes.
“There’s only one right answer to this and it’s not even close: Joe Burrow. He has played Mahomes three times and has outplayed him all 3 times but that’s not the whole story. He just plays the position at a little higher level than Patrick does. He operates the offense at a little higher level or consistent level than Patrick does,” Bayless said.
Bayless accpeted that Mahomes is a generational talent has a better throw than Burrow. He even said that Mahomes runs better than Burrow but also added that the Bengals QB is no less than Mahomes in that department.
“And I’m taking nothing away from Patrick, who is obviously sensational. He has a better arm than Joe Burrow. He runs with football a little better than Burrow but don’t underestimate how Joe Burrow can take off and run. Mahomes just blows me away because he’s just rumbling and stumbling and all of a sudden, he’s got 20 yards,” he added.

Bayless said that Burrow has one of the best mental toughness amongst the current quarterbacks of the league. He recalled that Burrow got sacked more times than anybody in both the regular season and the post season last year and still managed to lead the Bengals to a Super Bowl.
“You wanna talk about mental and physical toughness? He got sacked more times than anybody in both the regular season and the post season and he led the team through Kansas City in a Super Bowl that they were in, until the last play of the game,” he said.
The Bengals are currently 11-4 for the season and are at the top of the AFC North division. They haven’t clinched the division yet but have a game’s edge over second-placed Ravens. In the upcoming two matches, they will face the Bills and the Ravens.
