Matt Patricia has had a long association with the Patriots organization, as the coach has held multiple positions during his tenure. He is one of the most trusted allies that HC Bill Belichick has in the Patriots’ locker room.
Patricia started as the defensive co-coordinator for the Patriots in 2012 and went on to do that job for 7 years until he moved to the Lions as their HC but failed miserably. Although he had a short stint at the Lions, Belichick welcomed Patricia with open arms and now the 48-year-old is the senior football advisor.
Patricia is highly experienced and has a great knowledge of the game. Therefore, it’s hard to believe that the Patriots’ play-caller has had an abysmal state of form this season as the Patriots lack any creativity in their play-calling.
This lack of creativity in play-calling was highly noticeable when the Patriots faced the Dolphins recently. Although they won against the Dolphins, their game was pretty weak, and got exposed pretty easily. Patricia was heavily booed in Gillette Stadium when his face was shown on the billboard as the fans have certainly found a scapegoat for the Patriots’ lack of playoff football this season.

Patricia has endangered his position in the team by experimenting with various forms of play-calling that have had disastrous effects throughout the entire season. However, some insiders suggest that Patricia will be a part of HC Bill Belichick’s plans next season and will have a prominent part to play in the team.
NFL Twitter won’t be excited with this news as they are fed up with Patricia and don’t like the Patriots’ senior advisor. The 48-year-old was called various names on Twitter and was savagely insulted by the masses.
However, Patricia alone shouldn’t get all the blame, as he is just one of the many bad performers in the Patriots team. The Pats have had a rough time this year where nothing has gone right for them. Patricia is a clear scapegoat who’s on the reeving end of all the anger and frustration.
Matt Patricia is probably the most hated man on the Patriots team now as there are hundreds if not thousands of tweets roasting the guy. Patricia will have to bounce back and win back the love of the people. However, that will only be possible next season as the Patriots have just one game left against the Bills.
