Tom Brady is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time. The New England Patriots icon has made a lot of accomplishments on the field and has been a role model for plenty of people in the United States. However, the golden boy of the NFL has often found himself at the center of controversies.
In that trend the Patriots legend Tom Brady is facing another controversy as people on social media demand the 15-time Pro Bowl quarterback repay the $960k Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan that he received for his fitness brand TB12 to keep the company alive during Coronavirus pandemic back in 2020.
Some people allege that the 3-time league MVP Tom Brady used the loan to buy an expensive yacht worth $6 million. Brady applied and received a $960k PPP fund in 2020. According to a USA Today report, Brady bought a 40-foot boat after he received his PPP loan. He named the boat “Viva a Vida” after his then-wife Gisele Bündchen‘s environmental project.
PPP loan was supposed to go to the people whose small businesses were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. But Brady, who’s reportedly worth more than $250 million, receiving the loan did not sit well with many people on social media.

Social media rips Tom Brady over the PPP loans
Tom Brady’s $960k PPP loan he received during the Covid-19 was reportedly forgiven. However, there is no clear answer if Brady’s welfare brand repaid the funding. Nevertheless, many people on social media believe the Patriots icon hasn’t repaid the loan yet and demanded he should pay it back with interest amidst the debate over student loans.
On the business side of things, Tom Brady recently retired from playing football after dominating the sport for more than two decades. Following his abysmal season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 45-year-old quarterback decided to hang the boots.
After retirement, Brady is currently enjoying father time, as he spends a lot of time with his children. Brady has already signed a 10-year deal with the Fox Network worth up to $375 million. He looks to start his career as a sportscaster in the fall of 2024.
