The San Francisco 49ers traveled to the East side of the country to take on the NFC East Champions the Eagles in the Conference Championship game on Sunday. The much-anticipated game turned out to be a blowout as the Eagles thrashed the Niners and secured a 31-7 victory and moved on to the big dance, which will take place on Feb 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The Niners’ bad luck continues as their rookie QB sensation Brock Purdy suffered an ankle injury and was forced out for the most part of their game. Furthermore, the 49ers were forced to play their 4th-string quarterback Josh Johnson after Purdy’s injury, which cost them the game. The Eagles’ defense feasted on the fourth-string QB and totaled 3 sacks and three forced fumbles. The only saving grace for the Niners was their RB Christian McCaffrey who rushed for 84 yards and one TD while averaging 5.6 yards per carry.

On the other side, the Eagles led by their MVP-Calibre QB Jalen Hurts turned those turnovers into points and kept the scoreboard ticking for their team. Furthermore, the Eagles RB Miles Sanders, who had a breakout season this year, rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 3.8 yards per attempt in the decisive game. The Eagles had luck on their side as they got plenty of calls from the referees in a championship game.

The Niners had 11 penalties on them for 81 yards, which led to some frustrations for the Niners’ players, and the 49ers OT Trent Williams decided to take out his frustrations on the Eagles’ defensive back K’Von Wallace.

During the fourth quarter of the game, the 49ers were trailing by 24 points and were facing a 4th down from their own 41-yard line, and the Eagles defensive back K’Von Wallace tried to punch the ball out of WR Deebo Samuel’s hands even after the referees blew the whistle and the 49ers OT didn’t like it.

Williams pulled the defensive back and slammed him down hard on the grounds of the Lincoln Financial Field, Eagles rookie LB Nakobe Dean saw the slam and went to punch the big offensive lineman.

The officials managed to step in and clear the scuffle between the two teams. Furthermore, they ended up ejecting both Trent Williams and K’Von Williams, and the match continued after a few minutes.

Nevertheless, the Philadelphia Eagles decimated the San Francisco 49ers and moved on to the big dance where they will face either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Cincinnati Bengals on Feb 12.
