The former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee is changing the way sportscasting has been done for decades. The signature tank-top-wearing McAfee always works in the interest of people. Due to his unique way of handling business, he has been able to regularly conduct interviews with multiple celebrities including Aaron Rodgers, who is not known as a media-friendly person.

The former All-Pro punter doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind. He has openly admitted to smoking marijuana in the past and recently he even advocated for the legalization of marijuana in the NFL.

Back in March, when the NBA agreed to stop testing players for marijuana use, Pat McAfee wanted the NFL to do the same thing. In that trend, the 2-time Pro Bowler took to social media to celebrate the National 4/20 day.

NFL fans on social media praised the former NFL punter Pat McAfee for his 4/20 day wishes post on Thursday. Marijuana is still a taboo subject in the sports world but McAfee never shied away from talking about it.

In fact, McAfee does it every year. Once, during the famed Colts icon’s playing days in 2016, he got hit with a drug test after posting a happy 4/20 day on social media. Now that he’s not in the league anymore, he doesn’t have to worry about it.

Nevertheless, the NFL might relax a bit on its drug policies in the future and remove marijuana from the testing system entirely. It took years and years of players speaking out in the NBA to remove it from the system, but since one major sporting league has already done it, the National Football League might consider doing the same in the coming days.
