Tom Brady took the ultimate decision to retire from the NFL yet again, this time for good. The QB has left a lasting legacy in the hearts of fans and the world of the NFL with his exceptional devotion to the game.
However, these weren’t the only things he was known for. Brady also holds countless records that prove that he is the greatest NFL athlete to ever grace the field. Regardless, many like to give their controversial takes to trend on the Internet and disregard the GOAT.
Mike Francesa from ESPN did exactly that when he gave outrageous comments when asked to react to Brady’s retirement. Francesa stated that TB12 is just the guy who played the longest and technically won the most games.
“[Tom Brady’s] not the best regular season quarterback I’ve ever seen. Peyton Manning was. He’s not the best Super Bowl quarterback who ever lived, Joe Montana is. What he is though, is the guy who played the longest and he won the most games.” Mike Francesa stated on Twitter.
Although Francesa had some good points in his overall speech, his outrageous comments were noted down by the masses and social media unleashed its fury on him.

Tom Brady’s competitive spirit and work ethic have allowed him to play 23 seasons in the NFL which is a milestone in itself. So to disregard him for doing something no one will ever do is not fair.
NFL Twitter was quick to notice this and swiftly doubled down on Francesa to educate him on the greatness of Brady as the twitter thread was filled with facts showing that the former Bucs QB is the greatest.
However, some agreed with his assessment but they were quickly overpowered by the mass majority of Brady fans. The 7 time Super Bowl winner is an inspiration to countless football players in the NFL and that outweighs any fact that can prove someone else is better than Brady.
