Washington Staffer caught spying on Bears OC Luke Getsy

On Thursday, the Washington Commanders got smacked by Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears in their week 5 matchup. Fields had one of the best games of his career throwing for multiple touchdowns. Commanders couldn’t stop the Bears’ offense as the Chicago-based football team dropped a 40-burger on Ron Rivera‘s Washington-based football team. And now, a shocking footage has emerged fan, in which, someone using a Commanders’ case phone seemingly recording the Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy‘s play sheet.

In a short video, posted by a user named drunkryanpoles on the social media platform X, an alleged Commanders staffer seemingly recorded Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy’s play sheet while he was calling plays. The alleged Commanders’ staffer seems to be zooming on his phone camera to record Getsy’s offensive plays.

The short video went viral on social media and has accumulated over 9 million views in just 16 hours. The person in question could be seen wearing a badge around his neck, which must’ve granted him permission to the sidelines.

It is hard to tell whether the guy in question was really ‘spying’ on the Bears or not. Either way, the Commanders could not stop the Bears from dropping a 40-point game on Thursday. The Bears QB Justin Fields registered 339 scrimmage yards and 4 total touchdowns. His number 1 target on that night was wide receiver D.J. Moore, who caught 8 passes for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Commanders.

As a result, the Chicago-based football team ended up winning the game 40-20. This was the first victory for the Bears in the ongoing season. With this victory, the Bears broke their 14-game losing streak and improved to 1-4 in the 2023 season.

In the end, the single clip is not enough evidence that the Commanders were spying on Luke Getsy and the Bears. The NFL hasn’t acknowledged the incident yet and the spying angle remains a conspiracy theory for now. Meanwhile, the Commanders would have already shifted their focus to the Atlanta Falcons, who they are scheduled to face next weekend in their week 6 matchup.
