Multi-billionaire and owner of LA Rams Stan Kroenke has been handed a heavy bill of $571m in the St. Louis settlement. The settlement bill decision on which NFL was stuck for 12 months has been finally been taken. 

According to the ESPN report, the NFL lawsuit will enforce Stan Kroenke and other 31 team owners to pay a combined settlement of $790 million over the Los Angeles Rams’ relocation from St. Louis to Los Angeles. NFL owners are expected to approve the resolution soon.

St Louis Rams, now called the Los Angeles Rams, moved from St Louis because Stan Kroenke wanted their stadium to be one of the best in the NFL, and this is where the controversy began.

After spending around two decades in Missouri, the Rams finally shifted their base to California in 2016. And as part of the relocation process, the city of St. Louis filed a lawsuit against both the league and the Kroenke family.

The St. Louis city claimed it cost millions of dollars in amusement, ticket, and earning tax revenues. And as all the 32 NFL owners voted in favor of the relocation of the Rams to Los Angeles, they too have been asked to pay the remainder of the settlement bill and suffer the brunt.

While there’s no doubt that Stan Kroenke will have to pay at least some amount from this settlement, one has to also keep in mind that he is the owner of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the company that holds a massive portfolio of sports teams. The other teams’ operations will surely be affected in some way.

For example, Arsenal, currently the table toppers in EPL, may have to rethink the transfer plans of Mikel Arteta and Edu, considering its owner’s fortune mishap. Because at the end of the day, it all comes up to the owner and Kroenke is responsible for $571 million. 

On the other hand, LA Rams will be looking to exact revenge for the loss they faced earlier this season against the 49ers on the 31st of October. Hopefully, the Rams provide Stan Kroenke some relief in the form of a sweet win.
