Russell Wilson could be in the market for a new home. Well, he did sell his $25 million Denver home, hinting that his time with the Broncos was numbered. And if the odd makers seem right, then the veteran quarterback could find himself wearing the black and gold of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sean Payton benched the 35-year-old midway through the season despite a good spell. At one point, it seemed that the Denver Broncos might sneak into the playoffs, but they eventually failed. Payton handed the reins to Jarrett Stidham for a few games.
Reports indicate the Broncos don’t plan on bringing back the $245 million-dollar man next season. Whether it is a trade or a release, Wilson will find himself in a different location in the 2024 campaign.
According to the DraftKings Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently the likeliest destination for the nine-time Pro Bowler. The betting market opened at +1400 for Wilson to be a Steeler. However, it rose to -110 over time, making them the favorites to land the Super Bowl winner.

Even though they are stacked, Mike Tomlin’s team is also on the hunt for a quarterback. Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph all took turns last season. But doubt Tomlin is thrilled with the options. Another poll also shows that the Steelers are favorites to land Justin Fields from the Bears.
Then again, Tomlin insisted last month that Pickett was their No. 1. So if Wilson joins the team, will he play as a backup?
It’s doubtful they will bring in two new faces on top of the three they have. If they do, then there will be some releases. Even ESPN’s Adam Schefter hinted that there’s a possibility the Steelers will go out and get a new quarterback in the offseason.
Russell Wilson’s blockbuster trade did not materialize well on the field. He played 30 games for the Broncos in two seasons and amassed 6,594 passing yards and 42 touchdowns with 19 interceptions. Solid numbers, but not enough to reach the playoffs on either occasion because they were 11-19 in that period.
The Broncos benched Wilson after failing to agree on a cut in his contract. He revealed meeting with the front office after the Chiefs game. Payton played him when the situation was still in their hands. But they benched him when the realization kicked in that the Broncos wouldn’t have post-season football.
