Malone played a major role in guiding the Steelers to important wins, however, during his rough patch, something happened on the football field that left everyone in shock.
“He said he didn’t like Steelers QB Mark Malone”: Officer who arrested Morelli for terrorizing the Three Rivers Stadium
Often we see angry fans letting their favorite teams know exactly how they feel about them by using various methods. Some curse them, some bring in placards in the stadiums and now we have social media where anyone can say absolutely everything.
However, back in 1987, an overzealous Steelers fan did something to show his anger towards his team which no one should ever do. Th man drove his station wagon into the Three Rivers Stadium and terrorized everyone who was present at the venue. The culprit identified as Tony E. Morelli narrowly missed four workers which executing the brainless stunt.
When he was taken in custody by the police, he claimed that he was tired of Malone’s passing which is why he did what he did. ″The only thing he said was that he didn’t like Malone,″ the officer had informed. ″He just rode in here in a white station wagon and took half the wall off my office, a concrete brick wall, then he ran into a couple of our four-wheel- drive trucks with 70 to 80 gallons of nacho cheese,″ Ted Winters, the commissary manager at that time had claimed, as reported by Associated Press.
Morelli entered from one gate, then drove the wagon through the other gate, re-entered and kept the shenanigans going for a while before he was eventually taken in custody. If someone is not already brainy enough to know what is right and what is not, this incident will keep reminding them where to draw the line as a fan.
