The Pittsburgh Steelers played the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3. The Steelers charter flight landed in Kansas City due to an oil pressure failure in one of the engines. It was an emergency landing as well. Multiple players took to Twitter to react to their situation as DT Cam Heyward jokingly asked Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift for a ride to Pittsburgh. T.J. Watt also told his side of the story.

Steelers’ All-Pro DE T.J. Watt talked about the emergency landing and said it wasn’t fun. Watt talked about the situation while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show. He expressed the situation was not pleasant for him. Watt also revealed the team waited around five hours before boarding a new plane to return to Pittsburgh.

Watt said, “I do have to admit that I got some comfort knowing I was on a flight with our team owner and a bunch of multi-millionaires so I knew they’d hopefully take every precaution known to man to get us down safely. There were a lot of Dunkin’ Donuts being passed around — a lot of breakfast pizzas…no one slept.

He said, “I’m just very proud to call him my older brother.” T.J. Watt said his elder brother deserved the induction.

J.J. Watt retired from football after the end of last season. He was a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and was a 7-time All-Pro selection. After spending nine years with the Houston Texans, he retired last year as an Arizona Cardinal after getting traded there in 2021.
