The Buffalo Bills had yet another disappointing end to a great season. The Bills went 13-3 in the regular season and clinched the AFC East division and advanced to the divisional playoffs after a close win over the Miami Dolphins.

Just like last year, the Bills were unable to cross the divisional playoffs threshold and make it to the AFC Championship. Cincinnati Bengals gave them a beatdown in the snow-clad Highmark Stadium. Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs was extremely frustrated that they lost the game, and it was visible in his sideline bursts of anger on quarterback Josh Allen who just wasn’t playing like himself.

Diggs, who joined the team in 2020 after parting ways with the Minnesota Vikings, has been on this stage three times and lost each and every one of the encounters. But this year’s loss made him lose his cool and question what exactly they are doing wrong in the playoffs despite dominating in the regular season.

While speaking with Buffalo News on Friday, Stefon Diggs cleared the air regarding his fight with Josh Allen during the divisional playoffs’ loss to the Bengals. “I watched the game after the game on my iPad,” Diggs said. “I watched the game like five times, just to see what kind of really happened, and I still didn’t draw an answer as to why it happened the way it did. We just didn’t look like a team, we didn’t look like we had any juice. It just looked like a different team, and it just didn’t make any sense to me.”

The 29-year-old star receiver also said that he is compartmentalizing his feelings and trying to stay focused and get his mind off of the humiliating defeat. He said that he was disappointed with how their season ended on the same stage after they put in their blood and sweat to get to that point. Stefon Diggs is known to be an emotional player and displays his anger on fellow teammates, but in the end, he loves and cares for the guys in the locker room.

Diggs had signed a four-year, $96 million contract extension back in April 2022 that will keep him with the Bills until 2026. He has been a stellar receiver, and he proved so this season as well with his performance. He had 108 receptions for 1,429 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns. Bills head coach, Sean McDermott, said after the season-ending game that everyone knows Diggs is extremely passionate and one of the reasons why he is so loved on the team. “Stef is a highly competitive individual, as we all know. He’s frustrated like we all are. He was in today, and he and I spoke. And I’ll leave it at that,” McDermott said.

The 3x Pro Bowl wideout was present at the NFL Honors show on Thursday in Pheonix along with his buddy, Bills safety Damar Hamlin. Diggs presented an award and Hamlin delivered a strong and moving speech surrounding the events of his cardiac arrest in week 17. Stefon Diggs clearly likes to win, and he will keep trying to be there for his team. Let’s see if the Bills are able to reach the Super Bowl next year and get off out the ditch they are in or will the league get to witness another one of Diggs’ meltdowns.
