It seems Rodgers is not the ideal choice for the Jets as former WR Brandon Marshall strictly advises against it.

Aaron Rodgers‘ trade saga has been the talk of the NFL world since the Packers didn’t make the playoffs as there were rumors of the QB wanting a change. The Jets are an ideal option for him as he can seriously cause damage with the help of a bolstering offense and will also have the opportunity to mentor a prodigy like Zach Wilson.
However, there are many who are not content with this speculated move and believe that Rodgers won’t fit in with the Jets despite his ability with the ball. Former Jets WR Brandon Marshall recently spoke about this on the site of the Super Bowl clash between the Chiefs and Eagles. Marshall was highly skeptical of the move and it mainly boils down to the age of Rodgers.
“Aaron Rodgers is the best thrower of the football our game has ever seen,” Marshall stated. “This is our opportunity to really get it right and be in position to be contending next year. So, you can go Aaron Rodgers and feel like you’ll get there, right? But what’s going to happen after next year? I feel like a Derek Carr, even a Jimmy Garoppolo, with that defense, with Elijah Moore used the right way and then Garrett Wilson, we’re set up for the next five to seven years.”
The 39-year-old QB is a class apart when it comes to just passing the ball. However, a team must look at all the other dynamics and Rodgers probably won’t fit the bill. The main concern will be his age, as he can offer just one or two years of superiority and the Jets will have to look for a new QB yet again. Instead, Brandon Marshall has a better option.

Brandon Marshall wants the Jets to go for Derek Carr instead of Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is one of the best QBs of this generation. However, the need of the hour for the Jets is long-term stability over one year’s success. Hence, Derek Carr will be a better option than Rodgers.
Marshall, a six-time Pro Bowl, also pointed out that Carr has a different personality where he can get going with anyone and that isn’t exactly the case with Rodgers, who is known for his distant persona.
“We did this, Woody. We did it. We tried this before with Brett Favre. Derek Carr, that’s all we need. We don’t need the best quarterback. We need the right quarterback,” Brandon Marshall stated to NY Post.
With the future still uncertain for Aaron Rodgers, there has been no new updates by the team or the player and it is likely that the saga will continue when the Super Bowl is done and dusted.
