Last Sunday, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills squared off against their AFC East division rivals, the Miami Dolphins in their week 4 matchup. In a much-anticipated matchup, Allen and the Bills dominated the Miami-based football team and registered their third victory of the season. In the game, the Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs scored three touchdowns and even celebrated in style.
During the second quarter of the game, Diggs caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to put the Bills ahead on the scoreboard. After catching the touchdown pass, Diggs did his best Stone Cold Steve Austin celebration. Diggs went to the crowd, took two bears, and smashed them together, imitating the iconic Stone Cold Steve Austin celebration.
The All-Pro pass catcher Diggs smashed the beers several times before throwing them back into the stands. Check out the footage of the iconic celebration below.
While the fans did not have a problem with the Celly, the NFL seems to have one. There was no penalty called on Diggs for the celebration on the field, but the league ruled Diggs’ celebration as unsportsmanlike conduct and fined him for it. According to reports, the Bills wide receiver had to pay $13,659 for his Stone Cold celebration.
Nonetheless, that touchdown was just the first of three TD passes Diggs caught that night against the Dolphins defense. Diggs was the primary target for Josh Allen last Sunday as he caught six passes for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns in Buffalo’s dominant victory against Miami. In the end, the Bills had a dominant 40-20 victory against the Dolphins and improved to 3-1.
Social media reacts to Stefon Diggs getting fined for his celebration
The Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs getting fined for celebrating his touchdown didn’t sit well with the NFL fans on social media. Fans believe players should be allowed to celebrate instead of getting fined. Check out some of the reactions attached below.
Diggs had a feast against the Dolphins’ defense registering 120 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. The Bills quarterback Allen registered 5 total touchdowns while throwing for 300-plus yards. As a result, Buffalo handed Miami their first loss of the ongoing season.
Now, Allen, Diggs, and the Buffalo Bills will be focused on making a statement with another dominant victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who they are scheduled to face this Sunday in their week 5 matchup. The exciting Bills-Jaguars matchup will take place in London at 9:30 a.m. ET.
