The audience of the show First Take witnessed a weird yet heated discussion between Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith regarding Russell Wilson‘s move to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Smith seemed impressed as the team finally found an option besides Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky. Sharpe denounced the excitement of Smith which frustrated the veteran analyst.

Smith has never shown a liking towards Kenny Pickett. A few days back he blasted the Steelers’ possibility of achieving something big with Pickett on their side. Hence, he seemed convinced that the team taking Wilson as their starting quarterback, was certainly a good idea.

In this context, the veteran noted:

He's thrown 26 touchdowns last year, the Steelers threw 25 in the last two years. Shannon, I expect more enthusiasm from you bro.

Answering that Sharpe compared Wilson with a girl alone in the market, as he said:

'Can I give it to you like this - he's on the market.' No matter how fine a chick is. No matter how many Birkin bags or Chanel purses she has. If she's on the market, what does that tell you? Adding further, Sharpe said, 'She can be a dime, she can have a mansion, she can drive a Bugatti. If she's on the market, what does that tell you, Stephen A?'
Shannon Sharpe responded

In response to Sharpe’s argument, Smith claimed it suggested that no one likes to have the girl (Wilson here) on their side.

Russel Wilson’s trade was expected quite a while ago

In the NFL offseason, it was expected that the Denver Broncos would trade Russell Wilson. The 35-year-old had two poor seasons with the Broncos. In his first season, the team won just five out of their 17 games. In the second the win ratio increased but the team failed to make it to the postseason.

In addition, Wilson’s relationship with the head coach declined. The two often fell out and head coach Sean Payton often put the blame on the veteran. Hence, his life on the Broncos team became difficult, and as a result, the quarterback has now moved on to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In the coming season, all eyes will be on the former Broncos QB. He has signed a one-year deal and this year will be highly important to turn things around.
