The Dallas Cowboys had a stellar victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in week 14. A thumping 33-13 win established the Cowboys’ dominance over the Eagles. It was a great defensive performance by the Cowboys that silenced the Eagles’ offensive trio. The CB of the team Stephon Gilmore deserves the credit for silencing the likes of A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts.
In the post-game talk, Gilmore revealed how the trash talk by the Eagles WR Brown triggered him going into the fixture. Through the Dallas Cowboys’ official website, Gilmore added that Brown called him ‘old’ ahead of the game, and that motivated him in the game.
I just didn’t like how he called me old at the beginning of the game--So it lit a fire in me a little bit. I was mad. The only thing I could do was show him I was still here, and I think I did that today. I’ve been doing this my whole career. Covering the best guy and following him. It’s exciting because you know the ball is coming your way. I get up for those types of moments.
Against the Eagles, Gilmore led nine solo tackles. One of his tackles came against Brown when he tried to penetrate the Cowboys’ territory. However, Gilmore stripped Brown, and the Cowboys launched a drive with a recovered fumble.
The Cowboys will need Stephon Gilmore more in the coming games
With ten wins and three losses in their tally, the Cowboys are in full swing this season. They have shown tremendous perseverance from a 5-3 winning record and won their last five games. The way they humbled the Eagles showed that they could seal things in games against any big shot in the league.

The Cowboys have some serious fixtures in the coming time. The first will be the Buffalo Bills, who defeated the Kansas City Chiefs. The next will be the Miami Dolphins, who can thrash the opponents with the likes of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Gilmore will be responsible for stopping the WR-duo against the Dolphins.
It is to be seen how the Cowboys’ defense performs in the coming games.
